I've made it.
You can not imagine how reliving it is considering the journey it took to get here.
What should have been just a 6am flight and getting picked up by my boyfriend in a van has turned into me sleeping outside the locked terminal for hours, finding out upon arrival in Cairns that Torsten would not be meeting me and instead driving immediately down back to Sydney due to something tragic and completely out of his control happening back home.
It was a huge shock and a situation that is never convenient, especially on low levels of sleep, no food and having no clue what to do. He had all the plans.
Fortunately for travel agencies and free internet, I managed to book some hostels and tours and turn this into a relaxing nine-day, solo adventure.
Not even remotely what I had planned, but I rather enjoy my time and make the best of this than have Torsten have the guilt of ruining our trip.
That being said, I think it's time for me to get off the computer and into the warm sun of Northern Queensland; it's absolutely gorgeous here by the way.
A perfect distraction.
